Jau labu laiku atpakaļ informējām, ka Nikon D3x attēlu sensors visticamāk būs tāds pats kā gandrīz 3 reizes lētākajai Sony A900 fotokamerai. Līdz šim to Nikon centās slēpt un neizpaust sensora ražotāju. Tomēr fotogrāfam Rob Galbraith izdevies uzzināt, ka šo sensoru tomēr ražo Sony.Vienīgais Nikon saka, ka tas it kā neesot tāds pats kā Sony Alpha 900 fotoaparātā un joprojām apgalvo, ka šis sensors ir izstrādāts speciāli Nikon D3x fotoaparātam.
